PREPARATION - CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE

"IF YOU FAIL TO PLAN, YOU PLAN TO FAIL"

Preparation is the most important thing you have to do in anything you do in life. Let me repeat that. Preparation is THE most important thing you have to do in anything you do in life. Probably you have heard that a thousand times but today its going to be real for you. This sudden unraveling of enigma came about when I was showering after I got back from the gym today.

Recalling the moment in the gym earlier, as one of the members today came up to me and said he's ready for the workout today. Mind you, today's workout involved weighted pullups. Therefore the obvious being, you got to get your weights and rope under you. Plus the bars in the gym arent exactly that low, so you gotta get your box up too. Well so here is this guy standing in front of me ready to go, when I asked him, "You got your station all up?" and he looks at me with the biggest eyes ever seen alive. He heads off to get it all set up. ( I have nothing personal on you. I am merely just using you as a example as you make a good one for today)

You mean, "I actually have to set my station up???"

Through that, it got me all thinking. How many of us are guilty of this ? How many of us actually fail to plan ahead in life?

I know I am guilty of that. Just a couple of days ago, I didnt pratice my French like how any good college student in a French course should. So when I stood in-front of the whole class, I couldnt sell clothes for shit as a salesperson in a boutique. Before that, I had my Higher Diploma report to hand in. If I fail this paper, I would have fail my entire course and the only chance of re-sitting it would be in six months time. I was given the assignment in June. I only started two weeks back. If it wasn't for the miraculous alignment of stars that happened the other night, I wouldn't have survived that paper.

Just a couple hours ago, it was my first time in my life doing a back squat. I took the weights up to 115 kgs on my fourth set. Mind you that weight is light in the world of weightlifters and powerlifters. Thats probably what they do for warm ups but heck it was my first time. Let me tell you something about the back squat. If you're not mentally prepared to go, you're not prepared at all. I went under the bar too early, got down too deep, it literally blew my mind to lift the weight up when I was not thinking straight. It felt like there was a thousand things that was going through my mind. It made me respect Mr Miyagi even more from the Karate Kid, when he said empty mind when fight! Only now do I understand the true meaning of that phrase! EMPTY MIND!

I could go on with the thousand and one of examples which I know you all probably would have too. The fact that I am trying to make is that, you gotta plan if you want to succeed in anything you do in life. Its going to help you tremendously in everything you do and touch. I am not necessarily asking you to plan out a map for how your life is going to be in 15 - 20 years time. But just plan for the things you have right now in this period of your life. Perhaps its a girl you're probably trying to go after, plan a great night, buy flowers ..do those things that will get you to places. Perhaps you wanna lose weight, plan out what are the steps that you'll take for now. Maybe you not entirely that good at a movement in the gym now, plan a way to overcome that. If you're going to do a workout in the gym, plan ahead. You need weights, get the weights! You need a box cos you're short, get a box! You wanna look good in the gym, oil up before. You wanna impress the ladies at the beach, quick push ups in the toilet then! Whatever it is, just remember - ( You could say it out loud in front of your monitor a couple of times - I guarantee it has a nice ring to it ) If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Or here is a video that sums up the entire rubbish written above.
